Lesson # 2 from being Elle Marie and Bien's Mama

An excerpt from February 10, 2013 Facebook entry...

Found the key to getting what I want for valentines day! Thank you mga anak for always being there for Mama!

Mama: Elle, I want flowers from Papa:-)
Elle to Papa: Papa, buy Mama flowers! (and he did)

Mama: Elle, Papa forgot to kiss me... I'm sad...
Elle to Papa: Papa, you kiss mama! (and he did)

Mama: Elle, I want some time alone with Papa please...
Elle covered her double deck with blanket (looks like curtain) and transferred beside Bien. Bien who is normally clingy to Papa was silent. Elle to Papa: Papa, I will take good care of Bien tonight. You sleep with Mama. You hide in the blanket so we will not see you ok?!!!

Ooooops! Too much information but bottomline is... Know who is the greatest boss of all:-) That's lesson number 2!

Lesson # 1 from being Elle Marie and Bien's Mama

An excerpt from February 5, 2013 Facebook entry.

Almost done with all my written deliverables when Bien Mary noticed that I'm not playing with her... She approached me and smiled. I smiled back and went back to typing...

Bien standing beside me said "Hello Mama! Say cheese" and pretended to take my picture. I said, "cheese!", gave her my super model fierce look and went back to typing...

Bien still standing beside me said "Mama, I want to help you. Can I? and pretended to type. I said "not now anak. Mama is rushing something" and went back to typing...

Bien lied down beside me and murmured "I want to help! I want to help!... " and pretended that I cannot hear her. I looked at her and gave up typing on her nth "I want to help!"

Lesson # 1 from working at home: Know who is the boss! No trespassing for DLSU and other deliverables until the bosses are wide asleep!

Online Purchase from hell!

Last year I was invited to be one of the resource speakers to the forum on Cyber Crime Prevention Act.  There, I mentioned the urgent need for such law and stressed that the current law needs to be revisited. Buyers and sellers who are the primary movers of our economy needs protection from cyber crime.  I still go with this position. Especially, after my most recent online purchase experience...

It took me a long time before I decided to write something about it. I went back to the details of the transaction and asked myself for the nth time where I went wrong... Now, I am coming out for my fellow moms who wish nothing for their kids to look and feel good especially on Christmas day.

A friend of mine once shared a site to me in Facebook saying that she thinks the tutu being sold in that site would be perfect for my daughter knowing that she is into ballet.  I agreed with my friend  and thought the tutu would look great on Elle for her birthday party.   Initially, I sent a pm to the online seller asking about it but the seller said it will be available end of October because it will still come from Korea. So, I decided not to get one.

Then came the entry above in December at P720 but offers 10% discount.  Even without the discount I don't think I will be able to resist not buying this lilac dress for Bien knowing that she will look good on it.  Since I am into pairs lately, I decided to order the same dress but in pink for Elle. I paid Thursday hoping they could wear it in time for a party but it did not arrive until Tuesday afternoon.

I was quite happy with the lilac colored dress. (Although I thought I could buy the actual dress for P300-500 in Divisoria. But, what the heck). I almost fainted when I saw the "supposed to be pink colored dress!!!" It was not pink but rainbow colored! To think that it should have been purchased from Korea. It was half sewn (sides unfinished or not sewn, legs will come out! Looks like two slits on the sides of a tutu). It looks REALLY cheap!!!

I immediately texted Jenny and told her about my disappointments! It turned out that although I specifically ordered for a pink size 6 "Madeline", she sent me "Madeline Pink" which was also part of her collection (but I did not see). I told her that I will definitely not buy anything like that dress because Elle is very particular with what she wears. In fact, our helper that she did not even tried the dress when it arrived!

To meet half way, we agreed that I order another dress from her collection and I have to get it from Juan Luna, Binondo instead of paying another P50 courier fee  (that turned out to be the main street in Divisoria).  This time, I ordered for a pricey dress because I liked the design and I thought siguro this time, maayos na...

This is what I got for my P1,300... Took this photo morning of Christmas day.  Elle wore it for one hour only. I will try to secure a photo of this dress that she sent me but I should have known it will not look that close in person...

Another lesson learned.... I should have known better. I doubt it if I will do online purchase again after this...
